The beard is a feature that is subject to constant changes, since if its natural growth process is not interrupted, it grows a few millimetres every day. Every year new trends appear, started by famous men and by fashions set by social networks or magazines.
If they thought there were no beard-style ideas left, then they were wrong. This year a new style appeared known as the monkey tail beard which consists of a gap between the beard and moustache on one side only. At first glance, it would seem that the promoter (baseball playerMike Fiers) didn’t have time to decide one way or the other or maybe he was in a hurry to make up his mind in the time he was late for the game. But as social media overflows with all kinds of people imitating this new look, our eyes are gradually getting used to analysing it without certain comic overtones. The name comes from the shape of the hair coming from one side producing a spiral worthy of winning best carnival costume, linking with the moustache on one side and ending on the opposite side.

Some beards have entered the bearded imaginary and have come to stay, being found on the most creative faces, such as the XL beard or the Braided beard. Others, on the other hand, appeared as a one-off and fleeting fashion, such as the Alpine or Maraña (tangled) beard, whichare types of beard reserved almost exclusively for international competitions.
It is still not very clear if the Monkey Tail beard is here to stay or if it will simply be a passing trend like other elegantly stylish looks that are not very practical, such as the Dalí moustache-once out of fashion and reintroduced into society- or the two-tone beard, which essentially consists of dyeing half of the beard one colour and leaving its natural colour on the other half.
As society gets used to fashions, they stop being fashions in an almost natural process. So, bearded men of the world, you will have to keep on racking your brains and meditating, stretching a lock of beard like the wise Greeks to find all that is yet to be discovered in a sector that is gaining more and more followers.
